Weekends start on Thursday afternoons in St. Clair with the St. Clair Farmers' Market. A traditional market, local farmers selling Michigan grown products that change each week as different items become available. The market is located in the north parking lot of the Riverview Plaza and operates from 1:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
Every week at 5:30 pm a chef from a local restaurant prepares a recipe made from produce purchased that day from the market. Bryan Neiman is the host of the show, known as "At the Market with Bryan Neiman". Bryan's Market report can be seen on Comcast Channel 6 or WatchCTV.org. If you live in St. Clair County or northern Macomb County you can watch the program on Comast Channel 12. The show is taped at the north end of the St. Clair Farmers' Market.
A trip to the Farmers Market would not be complete without a stroll through downtown to check out the stores and enjoy the variety of tempting aromas from each of our restaurants.
Most retailers in Downtown St. Clair stay open until 8:00 pm on Thursday. Several offer Thursday only specials!
On Thursday's Achatz Riverside Restaurant presents its Polish menu - a menu so authentic that you think you are in Poland; LaCroix's Riverside Pub prepares its sizzler rib-eye steak with so much sizzle that you may need to cover your ears; Murphy Inn showcases its Mexican menu and offers all the tacos you can eat and live music; Pepper Joe's is famous for its Margaritaville Nights - hot bands and great margaritas, a dangerous combination; Sue's Coffee House offers a burger, fries and beer special; and the Voyageur Restaurant sticks with an old standby, Prime Rib, a cut so big the wait staff has to lift weights in preparation.
Once a month, the St. Clair Recreation Department presents a Big Screen Outdoor Movie in Palmer Park that starts at dusk. This summer's schedule is:
